There are currently two adult clubs in Milton Keynes – MK Bucks (founded 2004) and MK Lakers (founded 2013 as Lakers – previously MK City from 2006-2013). For the 2020/2021 season, the clubs are training together to make it easier for training sessions to go ahead under Covid conditions – we will eventually split back into two clubs, although we are all friends and sometimes people even train with both!
The first training session that we have restarted is outdoors on a netball court at Sport Central in Central Milton Keynes (near the train station) every Thursday from 6-7pm. We will be starting an additional session on Wednesdays from 9th June from 7:30-9pm on the grass at MK Rugby Club, Bowland Drive, Emerson Valley.
Everyone new can have their first two sessions for free – just book a space via our group on the Spond app https://group.spond.com/FBSOS or get in touch if you have any problem booking or have any questions!
Until at least 21st June, we are playing the “guarded korfball” version of korfball, with rule adaptations made by England Korfball to improve Covid safety, approved by the UK government. Of course, if you don’t know the korfball rules anyway, we’ll explain them to you!
Once matches against other clubs are approved to restart, we will also be organising some, and once tournaments restart, we will be entering some and also hoping to run our own popular tournament “Korfstock” which draws teams from all over the UK.
