Adult Korfball

Adult Clubs

There are currently two adult clubs in Milton Keynes – MK Bucks (founded 2004) and MK Lakers (founded 2013 as Lakers – previously MK City from 2006-2013).

Both clubs have now, since September 2021, restarted indoor training and welcome new players, whether beginner or experienced:

MK Lakers – Tuesdays 8-9:30pm in the sports hall at Nuffield Health at Kents Hill Park, Timbold Drive, Milton Keynes MK7 6BZ

MK Bucks – Wednesdays 7:30-9pm in the sports hall at Watling Academy, Barrosa Way, Whitehouse, MK8 1EP

Both these sessions are run by a coach who will cover fitness, drills and korfball skills followed by playing a game.

The clubs have also kept the joint outdoor “drop-in game” session, which started in April, running on the netball court at Sport Central in Central Milton Keynes (near the train station) every Thursday from 6-7pm. This session is uncoached so is just turning up and playing a game. At both this, and the indoor sessions, all the rules will be explained if you haven’t played before!

Everyone new can have their first two sessions for free at either club- just book a space via our group on the Spond app https://group.spond.com/FBSOS or get in touch if you have any problem booking or have any questions!

Matches against other clubs have also resumed, and MK Bucks and MK Lakers are playing in both divisions of the South Midlands Korfball Association League .

Summer outdoor tournaments are also a big part of the korfball scene. In MK, we also usually host out own popular tournament “Korfstock” which draws teams from all over the UK. As small tournaments restarted in Summer 2021, we managed to run a “mini” version in September 2021, and hope to return to full size next year.

“Korfball is a fantastic motif for our times”
